‘Jelly Baff’ (Corrosive acid)
For those of you who are aware of the existence of the product ‘Jelly Baff’ (available at all good Wilkinson stores), you will have been treated to a hilarious mockery of science.
This magical powder that comes packaged in the most colourfully attractive cling film, is advertised as a groovy little way of turning your bath time into a JELLY TIME!
However, upon study of the packaging we find that this magicalpowder ‘Works best in up to 4cm of bath water’. All ready the magic is somewhat diminished. However, the instruction reveal further insulting material. Apparently the compound formed by adding this formula is harmful to skin, and that you must apply skin lotion after every use of Jelly Baff.
So, let’s recap: This company formulated a chemical that could turn pure innocent water, into a corrosive substance harmful to skin. Now at this point, chemical warfare/danger/protective head-ware/DO NOT DRINK are words which spring to mind. But no. Apparently the words which sprung to the minds of the chemists in responsible for this possible weapon were ‘Children…corrosive….baths…..acid bath….acid bath for children’.
Congratulations the good people at Jelly Baff for endorsing the misuse of a brain.
